Assign Armed Police to Elemenary Schools

I don't like guns—period. But America’s gun issue won’t be solved even in the next hundred years. So, do we just wait for something to happen to our students and teachers? Doing something is better than doing nothing.

That said, I don't support arming teachers. I’m simply suggesting having an armed resource officer at each elementary school, just like we do for middle and high schools.

Some teachers and parents worry that the constant presence of fully geared police officers might terrify young children. I completely agree. This concern can be addressed by having officers wear plain clothes and conceal their weapons, in accordance with applicable laws.
